 PICK OF THE WEEK

First off the surprise for me was Colton going home! Did not expect him...thought for sure they'd send Lemon Squeezy home (or "Chakuzzi" has Simon likes to call him!)...and poor Peter Frampton Jr., boy, did he get the bum's rush!

But here now is my PICK OF THE WEEK...this kid...ai ai ai lil' PAPI! Man, if I were 20 years younger or he was 20 years older! And I never, NEVER liked dreads! Just goes to show, you CAN teach an old dog a new trick!!

His cheekbones, his nose, his eyes, his smile, his hair....what a package!

He also does a nice version of Gnarls Barkley's CRAZY. (youtube)

I feel like a dirty ole lady! Now I know how my fiance felt watching Julianne Hough on Dancing With The Stars!

JASON..YOU ARE MY "PICK OF THE WEEK!"

 GIRLS FELL FLAT

I WAS NOT IMPRESSED...NO ONE THRILLED ME. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I WANT TO GO BACK AND REPLAY ANY OF THE GIRLS' PERFORMANCES...BUT IF I HAD TO PICK ON....THE LITTLE GIRL WITH THE BIG VOICE....Ramiele

SO WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO GET THE AXE TOMORROW NITE?!

m.

Kristie....blonde, bland....nothing extraordinary about her voice. When the backup singers are better, well,...that's not saying a lot Kristy Cook. “Rescue Me” Even the guys aren't that impressed, they are just sitting there....yawn. By the way, I do give them extra credit for performing while sick. I've done that myself and it's not fun.

Joanne Borgella...o.k. voice. Not grabbing me. You know it doesn't grab you when you could just as well go to the bathroom during the song. I like the way she's modernizing it a little here and there. Hey, she made it through the song. Good for her!

Alaina Whitaker...She looks like Carrie Underwood. Happy Birthday.
I hear her as country. Poised. Looks pretty. Nice finish. But still, nothing that really grabs me.

Amanda Overmeyer...”rock n roll nurse.” I like the fact that she's not another tall, skinny, blonde. What the hell is that song? Love her look, it works for her...but can she sing a sweet ballad? She's bound to have to do that at some point in the competition. Couldn't really understand a word she said, but she did o.k. Cool jeans.

Amy Davis...”Where The Boys Are” OMG....boring, shaky....is she one of the flu-bug girls. So pretty to look at but.... Gawd, Simon will massacre her and Randy...geesh....I can hear it now. Her voice is weak. Poor girl. Nervous twitch in the upper lip.

Brooke White...(I've karaoke'd this song before, surprisingly difficult.) Very pretty girl, disarming but the presentation isn't doing anything for me. Time to go to the bathroom. (so to speak)

Alex Lushingon...great sense of style...who dresses them? I liked the entrance. You could market this kid. They are young this year, aren't they! Don't like this high notes. I like she's putting a modern spin on a very old song. Ai, the 60's I remember these songs!! LOL

Kady Malloy...another blondie....bring it and show us something because it's been a bore.....I'm ready to pull out last night's show and watch it again. O.k., so so performance...dull song choice.

Asia'h Epperson...there's something about her voice I just don't like...there's like this laryngitis “catch”....she looks good, cute as a bugs ear...love that top but it didn't do anything for me.

Ramiele Malubay....big song...come on girl, belt it! Cute girl. If she can nail the last big note...she's got my vote. She did....she gets my vote, didn't raise the hair on my arms, but the best of the night for me.

Sayesha Mercado....don't like the song. She looks good...good stage presence. It's like the music and the song aren't in synch. But I give her credit for having a good attitude.

Carly Strong performance. But I don't see her as a pop idol.

 SEASON 7-LET'S GO!

***REMEMBER EVERYBODY, THESE ARE JUST MY HUMBLE THOUGHTS...JUST FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY! FEEL FREE TO EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS!***
_____________________________________________________________________
IT'S A NEW SEASON! HERE'S WHAT I THOUGHT:

David Hernandez- “The Midnight Hour” nice voice, weak ending, blah, unforgetable I predict he'll be out by Th. as well. By the end of the show, I almost forgot he was on the show at all.

Chikezie- “I Love You More Today Than Tomorrow.” good stage presence, nice voice, weak beginning, didn't like the suit.

David Cook- Sang, “Happy Together.” Interesting, nice, he surprised me...pushing vocally perhaps. I can really see him fronting a band. Don't like his beady eyes. He'll be bald by 40.

Jason Yaeger- “Moon River”...needs more edge, forgetable, clean cut. God bless him. You could take him home to mommy.

Daniel Noriega- “Jail House Rock.”...Sanjaya look a like, good looking, too cocky. But loved his attitude with Simon and Ryan's “two snap” comeback! LOL Girls will love him, he'll be around for awhile,...like Sanjaya. The looks of Sanjaya but none of the charm!

Luke Menard- too old to be a new “pop idol”, very cruise ship as Simon would say. Ho hum, if he was a flavor, he'd be vanilla. He's a goner...bye, bye.

Colton Berry- “Suspicious Minds”, good vocals, too showy, annoying. Hate his blond eyelashes..

Robbie Carrico- “One Is The Lonelist Number” ...scarf guy, looks better with the scarf on his head, toe tapping number, so far the best. Reminds me of a young Bret Michaels.

David Archuleta- “You Better Shop Around.” Has a Paul Young kind of voice, age appropriate song, good for him at 17, very good! Very disarming...how long will the charm last? Remember Melinda "aww shucks" Doolittle of last year?

Jason Castro- He gets my vote so far, “Daydream” loved it!! First time I ever thought dreadlocks were sexy..worked for him. A little young for me (shame on me!) Loved how he modernized this 40 plus year old song! If I was 12, his photo would be ALL over my room, ala' David Cassidy!

Michael Johns- I'd do him tonite! What a looker. But again, a little old for pop idol. Lizard King lives...(well, kinda')...pushing the vocals too much, “pitchy”. We'll see what the judges say.... Good looking man, love the accent.

Who gets my vote tonite: man, it's a toss up between Jason and Michael. I think I'll have to go with Jason tonite. But I know he'll be around for awhile. That's cool, Simon and him and those accents! Can I vote for both? But no, if I had ONE vote...it'd go to Jason and the Dreadlocks.

LOL..loved the way Ryan dissed Simon, entirely...good naturedly, I know they are buddies.

Tomorrow, the girls.

Well Stream...what do YOU think!?

 Humble Thoughts....

Well...after this, it's one more post! We've come along way since February!!!

Melinda...she deserves to win but I wasn't "jumping out of my seat" tonite over her.

Blake was dead on with his songs and fiance even said last week that Blake sounded like that Adam guy from Maroon Five (and we love his vocal style!!! )

Jordin was fan-tas-tic with her two songs.

What do you all think???!! .....

 What Downer Nite.

Blake....blah...not so good!

Jordin...I don't care what the judges said, I loved your second song...I always liked that song ever since first hearing it on my Barbra Streisand's WET album in '79! (not to date myself or anything mind you!!)

Lakisha...just didn't do it for me.

Melinda...the first song...not so much...loved the second song.

Melinda and Blake...I will stick with that prediction but it won't surprise me if it's Melinda and Jordin.

And what do you think...

two more weeks!

And hey, what do you think of Dancing With The Stars!

And I can't wait...my favorite show from last summer, "So You Think You Can Dance" is coming BACK!!!

I like that fact because when it comes on, I know my kids will be coming up to visit me soon and I'll have my younger two for the summer and I haven't seen them since March....and last summer youngest and I and fiance watched it each week.

So it has good feelings and memories attached.

Tell me what your thoughts are!

And my fiance being into production and media (and even a P.A. on some movies in the 80s and 90s) can't wait for "THE LOT" to start...that's the film making competition.

He says he'll get wistful watching that one...as he had thoughts of being a film maker and screen writer when he was younger. I told him, that's how I feel about watching dance shows...woulda', coulda', shoulda' and all that JAZZ...

Gnite all...

Two more blog entries before I close this one...
